Such a nice find is this well made vintage heart shaped brooch with enameled flowers and colorful rhinestones, by the elusive designer Ernest Steiner, circa 1940s.

The sweetheart style pin consists of openwork metal with gold plated frame and underside, which has worn over time.  It has an openwork design of leafy branches with matte glazed flowers in subdued pastel colors of turquoise, green, and white – prong set with faceted rhinestone accents of pink, purple, and pale blue.

It measures approximately 2&3/8 inches in size, weighs 34.4 grams, and is signed “Ernest Steiner” within a square cartouche.
