Large vintage Art Deco brooch in shiny silver tone chrome, depicting a moth or butterfly. The design uses different shapes and textures of space age shiny chrome beautifully, with smooth curves next to pierced metal cross hatching, next to corrugated surfaces.
I love the way the soft lines of a moth or beetle have been given classic Art Deco angular aerodynamics in this design. The brooch is in very good vintage condition.
I would absolutely love to know who designed and produced this piece. It is possible it is a German manufacturer like the Jakob Bengel factory, but I have no provenance or history of similar pieces. The only thing that is clearly made in the same way with the same components I have seen is a bug brooch listed here: www.etsy.com/uk/listing/1378639844
